Relationships

While relationships have the potential to be sources of support, joy and connection in our lives, they can also be complicated, conflictual, or strained. A lack of positive and satisfying relationships has been associated with depression and poor physical health, while a strong support network correlates with enhanced mental health, increased ability to cope with stress, and improved physical health and longevity.

I work with clients struggling with relationships of all kinds, be it those with significant others, friends, family members, or colleagues. I also work with clients who experience social discomfort and anxiety that make it difficult to meet people and/or form meaningful relationships. I aim to help clients explore the nature of their past and current relationships; gain insight into their interpersonal patterns; become more comfortable in interpersonal settings; and/or learn strategies for improving communication and social skills, increasing assertiveness, or better managing conflict.
